I don’t think I have ever seen one of these roaming the streets. These are underappreciated in my opinion (and I drive a FoST).

Look at the interior and you can see why they’re underappreciated.

I thought about one long and hard, then I bought a Speed 3 instead.

I prefer it’s angstier, scruffier, more interesting sister.

Does it have RX-8 style rear doors? Those body creases look like that.

Sure does. From Wikipedia:
“The Saturn Ion Quad Coupe has rear half-sized suicide doors while the sedan has the lack of rear hinged doors.”

Yup. And because of how all the seats fold, you can carry a kayak inside the car .

Saturn were really making some interesting cars towards their demise. Their designs were good as well.
If they were not killed imagine if they brought the Astra OPC over.

I looked at the cobalt SS’s back before I bought my 98 Camaro SS, they were twice the money of clean Camaro and at the time way more on insurance. right after I bought the 98 SS a buddy got one and I rode and drove it, wasn't that impressed.

One of the nicest colours. Over half of all SS Cobalts were black.

Or the Meriva.

I prefer the sedan it’s quite the looker.

Before the Volvo I had a black 2010 SS. Super fun car, my biggest complaints were the majority of the interior were standard issue GM Rubbermaid, the lack of a proper arm rest in between the seats, and a very good sized trunk that was impossible to put anything in because of the stupid and poorly designed trunk opening.

This one had the supercharged engine though, don’t think anything other than the SS got the turbo.

I don’t quite understand why people complain about its interior, or any “shitty” interiors in general. I mean it’s not like they’re charging Maybach money for it. It was better than my Cavalier’s.

I actually was considering one of these to be my winter beater, I mean I can share oil filters and maintenance supplies with my Solstice, and reuse my winter wheels. Right up till the moment I saw the asking prices for one.

I mean I could get a much newer turbo Cruze with lower mileage than that for that money...

Man those RPF1's ruin the look of that car.

For most people, you’re inside of it more than you look at it, so interior quality and design are important.

I think the interior got an upgrade with the Turbo version. I think?

That’s what I had. Better seats over the base, LS, and LT models, different gauges, and a digital boost/information gauge off the A-pillar. Not much else was different.

The Fisker Karma got the turbo. So did the Solstice GXP and Sky Redline. Possibly the HHR SS if I remember correctly.

Yes, but not the Ion Redline in question there...

I was surprised how well these perform on a track. I spent an afternoon chasing one of these around Summit Point’s Shenandoah circuit a couple years ago.
